Overlay — Do you want to put an image, text or other graphics on top of your camera display? This overlay feature can help with that. The first step is to navigate to the Modules section of Streamie and set up a module with the desired content. Afterwards, use the Overlay button here and choose that Module. When you stream this group of cameras, the overlay will be displayed across the group of cameras.

Function — When streaming, a Group has one of two possible functions: Normal and Record. The best way to describe the difference is to simply describe what the Record function is: it keeps a streaming connection to each camera live and does nothing with the data: no decoding audio or video, no displaying video or playing audio. Why this is important, is that if you wanted to record, say, one hundred 4k cameras on a little Apple TV, that becomes possible with this Record function. If you configure a File Server for recording and stream a Group set to the Record function, you’ll have a highly scalable and efficient recording mechanism. For everyone else, just use the Normal function.

Full Screen — This option sets the behavior for when you switch a camera to full screen. The default, Regular behavior simply resizes the camera stream to fit the full, available space. The High Res behavior reconnects to the camera using the highest available stream resolution and displays that stream instead. Using this feature, you can put sixty-four (or more) low-res cameras on one screen, and still be able to view a camera in high resolution when viewing it full screen.
